About Us

Thank you for your interest in joining the Ottawa Valley South Bassmasters. We’re always glad to hear from anglers who are passionate about competitive fishing, sportsmanship, and conservation.

To ensure a strong and committed membership, all prospective members are required to attend a minimum of two club meetings prior to being voted in. This allows both the applicant and the club to determine whether it’s a good fit. Active participation and meeting attendance help keep your name at the top of the waiting list, and maintaining good standing ensures continued consideration for membership within our chapter.

Our club maintains a boater-to-co-angler ratio of approximately 60% boaters to 40% co-anglers. This helps ensure, to the best of our ability, that members can participate in their preferred events. However, due to scheduling, availability, and ratio limitations, membership approval and participation in every event cannot be guaranteed.

Membership Terms & Renewal Policy

  1. All memberships expire at the end of each calendar year.
  2. Memberships must be renewed at the first off-season meeting to maintain active status.
  3. Members who miss the renewal deadline of December 31st will be required to be voted back into the club.
  4. Any member reinstated after missing the deadline will lose prior seniority, and their name will be added to the co-angler waiting list.

Once accepted, members are expected to remain active, attend meetings when possible, and support club events, helping to keep our chapter strong, fair, and well-organized.

Tournaments are open to members only, and at the beginning of the season, members may sign up to fish as many or as few events as they choose. Participation in every tournament is not required.

Please note the following additional important policies:

  1. Membership fees and tournament entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless special permission is granted by the Executive Committee on a case-by-case basis.
  2. All members are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike, respectful, and professional manner at all times.
  3. Members must follow all club rules, MRN regulations, and all posted waterway signage.
  4. Safety, fair competition, and respect for fellow anglers and the environment are core values of our organization.

If you’d like to learn more, please visit our website at https://ottawabassmasters.com/. The site is currently being revamped, but you can still find information on upcoming meeting dates, membership costs, tournament structure, and club rules.

We appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing from you.
